    Passenger trains shown as 1100, 1215, 1330, 1445, 1600 ex Andrews House.

Will the coal train be running in the "empty slot"?

Presume Colin McAndrew gone by then; will Renishaw be "match fit"?

Looking forward to another good visit following last weekend.

Thanks in advance for any news on this one

    Cheers

Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances we have had to make amendments to this event.
Come and join us for a fathers day treat over the two days.

Fathers travel at childrens rates all weekend to make your fathers day extra special.

Saturday will include a rare chance to ride behind what is almost certainly the oldest regularly working diesel locomotive in Britian. Built in Scotswood by Armstrong Whitworth in 1933 to one of the first successful diesel designs, No. 2 is also a former Hebburn resident having spent most of its working between A. Reyrolles two plants in the town. The engine also had a brief spell at Shepherds scrap yard in Byker before being preserved and restored in the 1970s by Tanfield volunteers.

We have music and dance around the site provided be the following people:

Benny Graham - Traditional Folk singer and performer. Benny lives only 5 minutes from Tanfield and was born and raised in the north east. Steeped in the tradition and a great shanty singer too! Benny often accompanies himself using his melodeon.

Anthony Robb and Caedmon Pipers - Northumbrian Small pipers led by Master piper Anthony Robb. Anthony has played the pipes since being at University and has gone on to become one of the leading exponents of his instrument. Caedmon pipers are taught by Anthony at the Sage Gateshead and they all play a mix of traditional Northumbrian tunes and some more modern tunes from the new Tradition. The 'real' sound of the North East!

King Cole - Ruth Ball, Paul Knox and Kevin Lees, Stalwarts of Tanfield Railway, King Cole will be back again this Month to entertain and amuse the visitors at Tanfield. Traditional Tyneside and Northumbrian tunes, Humour and Songs.

These can be seen throughout the day at most of our stations. Enjoy a picnic on our countryside station Causey Arch after that you could wander round one of the railway walks, leaflets for the walks are available from Causey Arch station.

Can inform that Saturday will have our 1933 Armstrong Whitworth diesel electric on our North Eastern carriages with Sir Cecil A. Cochrane on a mixed train. Sunday will be Twizell on the vintage set and Sir Cecil A. Cochrane on the light railway set.
