At the moment looks like Twizell No.3 on the coal train, with Renishaw Ironworks No.6 on the passenger train.
Unsure of the timetable 100% but should imagine it to be a standard D timetable.
Also as the LHJC van is unavailable there will only be one brake van on the coal train so more shunting will take place at Sunniside/East Tanfield as a result.
Make sure you bring a video camera as Twizell is certainly loud!
However i ll stick to firing the passenger train instead!
    Hope this Helps.
    Tom.

Yes No. 3 Twizell on the Coal Train, 8x 21T hoppers plus van. Renishaw Ironworks No. 6 on the passenger train - vintage carriages.

First passenger train 11am - can't for the life of me remember what time Mk1 Hater has down for first coal train departure but if you want some shed shots before things kick off I'd get there no later than 9.30am.

Better late than never! How long do we have your company for? Will you get the chance to sample some of the local hospitality?

Awesome fist visit, Tanfield is a hidden gem of preservation, and the coal train day is a brilliant idea. However one suggestion, could you have a display either at Andrew's House or East Tanfield to explain what the day is all about? Running the trains is all well and good but if you explained to visitors what you are demonstrating it would just give people a little bit more info.

However, thanks for the warm welcome guys and I will definitely be back some day soon.

Coal train day, a day featuring the running of a train used for carrying coal, a coal train is a train used for carrying coal and the day was the period during which the coal train was run.

    =)

Oh, I get it! So if a railway runs a "Diesel Day", the steam engines will be pulling trucks full of diesel ...
