To mark the 10th anniversary of our Legends of Industry gala we will be recreating something not seen for over 60 years; a National Coal Board 'USA Tank'. These distinctive locomotives first came to Britain to help win World War Two and a handful stayed on after the conflict in use at collieries in Northumberland. The last was scrapped in 1954. But thanks to classmate No. 30065 visiting from the Kent and East Sussex Railway, we'll be recreating NCB No. 35 which worked at collieries on the North bank of the Tyne. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to recreate a lost part of the British railway history. Also visiting the event will be Manning Wardle 'Sir Berkeley' courtesy of the VCT and Middleton railway.

An intensive timetable will be in operation with a variety of passenger, mixed and demonstration mineral trains making for a great day out. There will also be our 2ft gauge demonstration railway, classic vehicles plus models and displays. The Station Master's Bar will be serving real ale, bottled lagers, wines and spirits on both days too.
Hot food will be available from the Pontop Canteen at Marley Hill while snacks and drinks will be on offer at Andrews House and East Tanfield
