Taser is used in station arrests

    A Taser stun gun was used by police as they arrested two people at Birmingham New Street station.

    A man aged 27 and a 21-year-old woman were taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder on Wednesday. British Transport officers closed off platforms 10 and 11 as the arrests were made by colleagues from the West Midlands force at about 1300 BST.

    The station was reopened 40 minutes later. West Midlands Police have released no further details.
