Thalys traffic up 38% between Brussels and Amsterdam

Passenger numbers on high-speed Thalys services between Brussels and Amsterdam rose by 38.4 per cent in the first half of the year.

The increase has been attributed to the withdrawal of Fyra trains at the start of year.

Overall, across France, Belgium, Holland and Germany ticket sales and passenger numbers recorded modest increases, up 1.7 per cent and 1.2 per cent respectively.

Satisfaction levels have also increased in the first six months of 2013 to 87.9 per cent – the highest level in five years.
