In the event, only one of the planned pair of steam hauled specials travelling through South Wales today made it. Unfortunately, Castle class 4-6-0 no. 5029 was a failure and a diesel substituted. Fortunately, I found out about this before leaving home. However, the ever reliable Bury based Black Fives did perform as planned, and I managed to photograph them at Lydney (In England and in sunshine) and Penpergwm (In Wales and overcast) while hauling The Cathedrals Express on a roundabout route from Gloucester to Shrewsbury. A few images of the train at both locations can now be seen on my Zenfolio website at: - http://mickrogers.zenfolio.com/p155550919
