    The Spring Gala at the Llangollen Railway is a three day gala starting on Friday 23rd April and running until Sunday 25th April. Billed as 'The Corwen Patriot Gala' the event has been arranged to generate publicity and funds for the Carrog to Corwen extension and for The-LMS Patriot Project.

    The Llangollen Railway Works will be open during the Gala, where progress with 45551 'The Unknown Warrior' can be seen. Card donations can now be made at www.lms-patriot.org.uk. (Click on DONATE NOW button).

    Personally like to see 957 and 46443 brought in but don't think it's either of these. The Super D be nice as well seeing as we have the old LNWR line to Ruthin not far away. Hopefully though something is found that attracts the punters and gets the trains full.

    I've heard quite a lot of rumours from other people regarding what's visiting but won't mention them as of course, nothing has been confirmed yet. Although I hope it is a visitor that hasn't visited Llangollen before or an engine that hasn't been to Llangollen for a while.

    I'm hopefully that I'll get at least 2 footplate turns during the Gala.

    Nothing new on the visiting engine just yet! As for 2807 we're not sure if it will be at Llangollen for the gala!

    2807 still didn't have the boiler in the frames last weekend, so it may still be around at the gala... Weather it is finished or not though!

    Is there any news on the visiting 'LMS' loco? Hopefully we should know soon as the gala is in 4 weeks.
    As for the gala timetable, when do these normally come out?

    Stanier ‘Mogul’ number 42968 has been booked to appear at the ‘Corwen Patriot Gala’, 23rd – 25th April at the Llangollen Railway.

    If true, then excellent news. It did face east when it visited Llangollen 2 years ago, so hopefully it will face west this time.

    Llangollen engines that will run over the 3 days will be:

    Put it this way, she isn't confirmed yet, both the CME and myself have had a chat with a couple of the SMF committee and are waiting for a response, watch this space ;)

    Not sure yet, I expect now we know the loco things can be sorted out. Expect to see the two stanier engines double heading over the weekend ;)

    Oh and I guess if the 2 staniers double head - she will be facing west ;)

    Unfortuantly the anticipated double heading of the two staniers hasn't happened. Looks like the mogul and standard pair together over the weekend tho
