Been advised this tour will avoid Carlisle and go straight to Appleby with the realtime links below.

I hear that Class 90 involved in a SPAD at or around Rugby, driver removed. Train still there apparently.....

Dep Euston half an hour down and seems to have been held at Rugby a while.

LD from Daventry to Crewe allowed to pass after the incident so may be something more to it - be interesting to know cause of delay on ECS into Euston.

Well, if that's true and assuming that the train can continue with a different driver, I fear that today's CME will be heavily curtailed and whether it will actually travel on the S&C must be in some doubt? And that's without thinking of the many passengers standing on Nuneaton, Crewe and Preston waiting for news.

Spad occurred at Hillmorton Junc, train was allowed to move to Rugby. DBS driver relieved from duty. Further information is that the train is unlikely to proceed, reason unknown.

Surely it's not DBS but West Coast crewing this trip??

DBS operation south of Carnforth, WCRC north of there. Hence why if you look on RTT, it comes up with four different sections of the tour, instead of two.

Ah I see! Any SPAD is noteworthy and some more than others. But I feel some relief in that it is not West Coast again! Phew!

Looking at RTT for Carnforth North, CME will hopefully follow the 1426 Manchester Airport-Lockerbie.

A good chance of this as that is basically the same window as the original path only three hours later.

Still no sign of movement on RTT. Nearly 3 1/2 hours late. Even losing most of the Appleby stop, just allowing for water, it could still be two hours late heading south.

Yep, just noticed that as well. RTT seems to be having a few problems today.

Well, I guess the only chance of gaining some time is to run from Upperby to Hellifield on one tender of water and miss out Appleby altogether. It's 75 odd miles with only 60 of those when the loco is doing anything so there's a couple of hours back.

If RTT is right, seem to have lost 20 mins between Tebay and Penrith
