Perhaps you don't remember what happened on 6233's previous trial?

This is a trial run and the diesel stays.

A couple of us are thinking of going. We have a vested interest since we are planning on borrowing 6233 for our open weekend then a trip to Scarborough on June30!

So you do a major strip and rebuild, put on some miles running lightly loaded, then go out for a loaded test run without a diesel, yes really makes sense...

Get booking Ben and I'll see you there...

You never know how full it might get and turning up on the day might just be a bit dodgy, I've now booked.

Subject to your timings and ours being about what they should be come n' give us a wave at Crewe before your return if we get there in time to see you. In theory we should be a little before 9pm returning from Cardiff on the top n' tailed "dreaded boxes" back to Huddersfield.

Re: The Duchess Night Owl, Wed 28th March

Just had a call from PMR, the Night Owl has been moved back a day to the 29th, it seems Network Rail have a measuring train using the path originally alloted for 46233. Also the departure times have been brought forward about 30 minutes.

I notice that the tour starts/finishes at Hathersage. Pity they couldn't have included a pick-up/set-down somewhere in the Manchester area as the ECS must be passing through that area en-route from/to Carnforth.

Indeed! I know why there's a pick-up/set-down at Hathersage (population ~1500), but, as I said, it's a pity that there is not also a pick-up/set-down in Greater Manchester (population ~2.5 million) given that the ECS must be passing through.

Access charges may play a part?
