Going by the RTC route description this covers a less well used steam route.
"At Anlaby Junction we diverge from the line into Hull Station and join the Yorkshire Coast Line. We pass through Beverley and into the Yorkshire Wolds, continue through Driffield to Bridlington from where the line is single track and we face a 5.5 mile climb at 1 in 92 through Bempton, finally joining the line from York at Seamer and on to Scarborough.
    "

I am on board so if anyone wants to be bossed around by a rude, dictatorial and stroppy steward, just let me know which coach you are in and I'll do my best to oblige. :Rage: :Punch:

That was my stomping ground as a kid when there were many weekend steam specials to the coast in those far gone days.

    Luckily I escaped :)

45690 is the likely motive power according to a well placed source.

When RTC wrote to those who had booked in March, advising that the return would now be via the Aire Valley , they also advised that the proposed motive power was 45690.

My grandad and me will be in Coach H 27 & 28B if anyone wants to come and say hello. Really looking forward to our first single-headed 'Jub' railtour (excluding the short stretch with Leander after 45407 had detached at Healey Mills back in March; we bailed out at Brighouse).

Leander was amazing back to Preston that night Mick45305 , making a wonderful sound with some memorable turns of speed.

Wasn't she just! Even in that ten or so minutes we had with her, the exhaust noise was spine-tingling. Don't think we've ever seen and heard such spirited running since.

Coach F 10B. Boarding at Manchester Vic.

Since it is only steam to Milford loop on the return, I will be getting off at York and will probably get home before the tour gets back to Manchester, and will even have time for a pint in the York Tap.

Think that'll be our plan too, we're also boarding at Victoria.

With there being no LE move for 45690 is it staying on the train but piloted by Diesel back to Manchester?

Currently RTT shows it non-stop through York. The only passenger stop between Scarborough and Preston is Woodlesford.
