Times are up on UK Steam now. Interesting, the train takes 43 mins to do the 1.3 miles from Hellifield to Long Preston (suspect typo error, 10.04 depart should probably read 10.44)! Chasing on foot a real possibility.
    Ribbblehead (3 b's)?
No offence meant, thanks for all the wonderful information without which our hobby would be very difficult.

Intresting to see that the the water stop at Appleby on the return is only 16 mins this year. Previous years it has been scheduled as rather longer and the train often left 20+ minutes early. Next week there's a coal train from Killoch scheduled through Appleby at 1611 (isn't RTT wonderful?), so I expect they will wait for right-time, to let it get out of their way. I don't know if that goods runs every Wednesday, though, so on other occassions The Fellsman may still run early.

0708 start from Lancaster is considerably earlier start that it has been in previous years, if I play my cards right each day I could combine a look with the daily commute - pity I can't hithc a ride down to Preston!

61994 was at Cumwhinton approaching Carlisle about 3 mins down. Green Mk1 support coach (Braunton's?), a few WCR Mk2's and Mk1's, then LMS carriage and GWR saloon at the back.
