    in this month's steam railway mag tour guide on page 101 read's sat 21-4-2012 the Great Britain v day 1 kings cross - york 4492 dominion of new zealand york edinburgh 4472 flying scotsman will she be put back together by then is somthing we do not know ? the new health centre in donny is to be called the flying scotsman centre is this where all sick loco's are to go to be mended

    When do you decide to include a loco as fit for a tour that is at present in bits? Don't forget she as at that certain workshop in north Manchester who have in the past be known to work wonders with rebuilds.

    Dunno, 6100 has been rostered for this trip for the past few years...if 4472 makes it despite its issues.. And 6100 does not again what do you think ? 34046 has also been running a few years already but not yet had a mainline test.
    Now 46233 has been running since December and has its first test run 3 weeks before this trip...4472 is yet to steam

    If I were a betting man I'd vote 4472 and 6100 out and 70013 as this years saviour of the day

    I agree there are alway doubts but surely 6100 cannot be compared with 4472 in respect of the effort being put in to get her back out as soon as reasonably possible.
