You'd better check the rest of the times for the Lancastrian. Bit of a glitch on UKsteam it seems. 20 minutes apart leaving Carnforth though.

Been a suggestion that 46115 might be on the CME. The Lancastrian look like an 8f job.

I'd hoped to travel on The Lancastrain next Saturday, but when I rang to book and I asked whether it's possible to join and leave the train at Preston, I was told that this isn't permitted. Rang up again to confirm this and told the same thing again. Since the loco changes from diesel to steam and vice versa will almost certainly be in Preston station, it seems rather an odd policy to turn money away in this fashion (I was was quite willing to pay the full fare, not expecting a discount for just doing part of the tour).

Stand corrected, just reporting what had been mooted in CME thread. That the scot would have a test this week as req to cover 45305. It's all good anyhow.

Hmm, I wonder if there'll be a 'helping hand' from the back, with that lot hanging on the tender drawbar? There's no doubt that the 8F can pull that lot, but how about the speed?

I saw this at Langho and the 47 was just ticking over and the 8F was certainly getting stuck in. Right hand drain cock still sticking though! I will post up a video shortly.

Confirmed as 14, so with the 47 isn't that 17 equivalent?

Was also at Langho and she was pretty darn impressive, giving a real determined performance with a gargantuan load like she had today. Will get round to uploading videos sometime tomorrow.

Sounds good - and no doubt the videos will too! I'm pleased to hear that the diesel seems not to have come into play :)
