    It was indeed an excellent programme giving a snapshot of a slice of life in the 50's & 60's. Of course, being the BBC, they just had to throw in a totally unnecessary reference to how wonderful multiculturalism was in the 1950's; despite this blatant propaganda, it was nonetheless a very enjoyable programme.

    It was a very good program that. BBC4 shows some pretty decent stuff every now and again.

    Quite liked where the term 'steaming' (drunkenness) came from!
