I see it also stops at Hathersage, I wonder why since it's only a village with a platform that take about 3 coaches max.... Cannot be that many who would want to get on there.

Ill certainly be going on this tour Only thing is why doesent it pick up at Sheffield since it stops there for an hour?
I live in Barnsley where itll be passing very but have to get the train to hathersage to Pick it up and then i have to get back from Manchester Victoria on the return.

It would be better if it called at Hathersage on the Return as Well
Does anyone know if therell be any drop off points on the way back or is it Manchester that you have to get off at when the tour ends?

It's a circular tour so only passes through Hathersage, Sheffield, Barnsley once. I'm booked from Manchester to do the whole tour. Service train from Meadowhall at 9.00am gets to Piccadilly 10.06 and a 15 min walk to Victoria. There's trains from Piccadilly in the evening for the return.

Sheffield stop is, I would guess, for water and since they usually stop in a platform with the water tanker backed through a gateway, I'm sure you could board there...

You could ring the office they are helpful and will book you on from Sheffield. You will miss quite a bit of the tour boarding there. The Hope Valley route is lovely definately worth making the effort to go to Manchester or at least Stockport. I'm planning on getting a service train from Meadowhall to Manchester at 9.00am arrive 10.06 if there was a long delay could bowl out at Stockport on the way through to Man Piccadilly. I have others boarding with me.

Im going for the full tour now from Victoria 09:00 Meadowhall to Victoria via Man Piccadilly . Ive planned similar to you but not booked it yet although i willl later today. Its quite cheap with a Railcard from Meadowhall to Manchester- £8.65ish Advance return. Also if you didnt know theres apparentley are hourly trains from Piccadilly to Leeds being diverted Via Manchester Victoria hourly that day so instead of walking between the 2 Stations why not get the 10:20 Piccadilly to Victoria?

Looks interesting I will have to look more at the connecting train between the two Manchester stations. I dont have a rail card so will have normal advance return tickets.

No connecting trains Pic to Vic but there is the tram. http://www.metrolink.co.uk/tramtimes/results/ You need the Bury service, however it is only 10/15 minutes walk.

I was wondering about that searched train times and quoting change Man Picc for Man Vic 15 min journey between and able to by ticket from Meadowhall to Man Vic no mention of tram.
Be quicker to walk done it before no probs.
Bring on the tour I say !!!
