An advert in Todays London Evening Standard for this trip. Loco - Bittern.

No page for it on the RTC website yet, but you can book it on line.

Presumably this is a replacement for the one due to run on 25 September that was cancelled at short notice.

Cant believe there is nothing on here for todays train.Perhaps it been done too many tines before,or perhaps its because it takes too long to get to York.

I am surprised too that there has been no recent interest or comments. Hope it turns up, although if it was not I would think there would have been a post about it being cancelled and I cant see one. Plus the times were released a few days ago on uk_steam.

It could be said that it is a regular trip so why do times vary by over an hour and nearly two hours in some cases?

Left Kings Cross on time but support crew were inspecting loco at Stevenage and departure from there was almost 20 minutes late. This put it behind a Peterborough local so had dropped a few more minutes when it passed me at Sandy. Mind you, the driver was giving it some stick at that point. Seems to be a leak from the front end though but no idea if this was the cause for concern at Stevenage.

Went past milepost 127 near Newark 30 minutes down and was behind a freight & local service train. No stop in Carlton Loop the freight had stopped in there. Sadly no photo in that the exhaust was blowing down the side of the train would have been nice otherwise in the morning sunshine.

I've just seen it on the return and it went by with the most awesome exhaust trail, full length of the train and more, just hanging in the still evening air, brilliant!

Nice to see after the controversy of the Exeter trip that this time there was no "box" pushing on the back!
