THRELKELD QUARRY STEAM GALA 25/26 JULY 2015

    For those who are narrow minded one of the annual events is on us again, the steam gala at Threlkeld Quarry near Keswick. 6 visiting loco's with a theme of 50 years since the closure of the Penrhyn system in North Wales.
    2 steam shovels this year, they are wonderful machines to watch. Photo opportunities abound. See link below:

    We usually park in Keswick and walk the old railway track to Threlkeld, start at Keswick station, through cuttings, bridges and tunnels takes you to the quarry door step, about 1 - 1.5 hour walking. The teas and cakes are usually courtesy of the local church in Keswick, helping to raise funds. Weather forecast is good for Saturday, see you there!

    An excellent day on the charter today, a line up of the 6 Penrhyn locomotives at the Quarry is captured here. Pictures and video to follow later over the weekend.
