I've done the last three, if this year is as half as good as it was last year then it will be more than worth it.

I wonder how the track extension is getting along

We have done this event for several years now, a wonderful day out, best ever last year. Surprised at the date, it's usually the 4th weekend in July so was expecting 23/24th, nothing on Threlkeld site yet. Good job we booked our overseas summer trip a week later than usual or we wouldn't have made it. Hope Graham brings his big tonka toy again (steam shovel)!

Never seen an Erie steam shovel. Hope the other one's running. I wonder what the other visitors will be. The Kerr Stuarts from the Vale of Rheidol would be a winner. Prince or Palmerston would be brilliant.

We saw the shovel both here and at Beamish last year, has to be seen to be believed, attracts a big crowd watching for ages as it's so interesting. When you see it get talking to the support crew, as usual a mine of information on how it works (not as simple as you might think) and always ready for a chat.
