It has been reported in one of the monthly mags but can't remember which one. 1450 from the Dean Forest Railway is the loco that will be used and renumbered as 1401. I guess the event will coincide with a release of the digitally restored Ealing film on DVD and Blu-ray as Ealing Studios are currently working their way through the back catalogue of their most successful films. The films look excellent on Blu-ray, particularly The Ladykillers.
Can't find any info on the event next year but here are some sites you might be interested in:

Hopefully the 14xx wont be tempted to take to the High Street at the dead of night...!

Wonder if they will be borrowing "Lion" as well?

The article in Steam Railway says the borrowing of Lion is unlikely to happen due to cost.

Add to that the difficulty in extracting it from the new Liverpool museum.

Lion is quite likely to be staying put. As far as engines steamable Planet would be nearest to Lion...

If I recall from the film that was easy, straight down the front steps at the dead of night and no one will notice!

The original steam roller is being used. I think a Bedford/Duple OB coach has been found as well (not the original I don't think).

"Marking the 60th Anniversary of Ealing Studios famous comedy film "The Titfield Thunderbolt", the NNR, sponsored by Steam Railway Magazine, will bring the film to life.
A visiting GWR 14xx steam loco and a toadbrake van along with the M&GN Societys Wisbech & Upwell Tramwaycar (complete with a replica of Mr Valentine's bar) will make up the Titfield train.

The event will also include the original Aveling & Porter steamroller and a similar Bedford OB bus to that in the film will also take part.

Keep an eye on this (facebook) page for updates as they happen & Steam Railway magazine will carry regular news updates.

Copies of the book "The Titfield Thunderbolt ~ Now & Then" will be available to buy and can be signed by the Author."

no way of getting Lion now, it is bricked in the new museum at liverpool. but it is not on show till nov, when more of the museum opens up. is ment to have a 50ft tv screen behind it showing it in operation, but what you will see is planet and rocket at the gcr in 2010. (see youtube" G.C.R. GOLDEN OLDIES EVENT 2010 ")
