Hello. I and a few fellow enthusiasts have set up a preservation group called Random Loco Preservation Group. We have plans to acquire a class 20 and restore it to running order at a location yet to be decided. We are welcoming fellow enthusiasts to come join us in acquiring and restoring one of these fine locomotives. We'll welcome you even if you just want to be a part of it. If you are interested in joining us please reply at the bottom.

    Unfortunately, yes.

Aren't there enough preserved already? Bertter throw your resources behind one of the existing groups surely?

without wishing to dull your enthusiasm there are plenty of engines and groups all in need of support , financial and practical, without another group who actually have no idea what they want to do in trying to buy an engine (as yet to be determined)

It's hardly a "glorious" start and certainly not one that would make me wish to either contribute or join

The website does you no favours - it gives the message that there is no plan to speak of, just a wish. If you are really serious about preserving a 20, there are some to be had out there but you are unlikely to raise funds for one through a public appeal, even a well structured one. If you have the money to do it, go for it and good luck, if you need others to help pay, I would echo the comment above that you join an existing preservation group and use your undoubted enthusiam to further something more practical.

Someone's actually spent a bit of time developing a website to say they don't know what they want to do !
Is this a school homework project perhaps ?

I suggest it's a wind up, poking fun at the BDLPG. And quite well done too.
