I attended this event. Living in P'boro' I caught the train to Nottingham where a bus service took us to Toton Depot. For those arriving at Derby by train, the 47's were TnT with about 6 coaches running between Derby & Toton.
A friend who also went told me afterwards that tickets for the shuttle were only being checked before boarding at Derby. So he & his son got on at Toton for a free ride to Derby & back.
For you younger Members, three of the then brand new class 66s were at Toton and you could get into the cab of all three.
When EWS (as was) then held an Open Day at Old Oak two years later, I naively thought EWS would hold an Open Day at a major depot every two years.

Thanks for the photos, good quality as always, but are you sure about 08796?
I didn't have that as being there and WNXX "Disposals" shows it was withdrawn in April 1990 and cut up in April 1993 by MC Metals Glasgow.
