Visitors are to be given the chance to see how the £1.7m redevelopment of a historic rail museum is progressing.

The Railway Centre and Museum, a former Victorian station in Darlington, closed at Easter after contractor Newton Moor Construction Ltd was appointed. It is due to reopen in March, but on 8 December there are limited places on a free tour for a preview of the work.
