Following preparatory work, levelling, laying and tamping sub-base, last Wednesday (30th), track was re-laid in the North Weald Bay platform, for the first time in over 40 years. This former goods bay is being re-build to modern safety standards as part of the improvement works, and will enable shuttle services from North Weald to operate towards Coopersale, and (hopefully in the future maybe on to Epping?). With sufficient volunteer support, in 2010 we will be able to complete this picture with our 117 DMU standing in BR green, warm and lit up, purring in the platform. Why not come on down and help our friendly team make this date sooner??
