DISUSED railway branch lines are to be reopened and used by cars as well as trains under plans to lay rubber roads along the tracks.
Britain’s first rubber highway, made from recycled tyres, will open this week on a branch line into a car depot near Corby, Northamptonshire.

More on this story from the BBC.

A congestion-beating project that could lead to some of the UK's 9,000 miles (14,500km) of disused railway being paved with rubber, has been launched.
