    Bogies going under in a couple of weeks, roller door opening has been altered to allow loco jacks to be able to enter.
    2 x refurbished engines inc generators directly afterwards.
    No plans for mainline, yet, going to repay on preserved lines first.
    No update on coat of paint, although 19 is now receiving bodywork tart up.

    Dont think they have been broken down, more serviced, pipework replaced, where required, maybe new injectors, oil and filters etc....
    Certainly Generators have been done, think 1 went to No9, after its mainline failure.
    Subsequent refurb one is on No 15 now.

    Its too easy to grab a set of pics, do some text and post, from experience, rather than the whole website bit, and you're right, its the way its going.

    Us rail enthusiasts owe a lot to the volunteers at Barrow Hill (and all the other sites), it's a while since I had a ride down the M1 on a Saturday morning for a visit I must make the effort again. I'd love to be able to do a bit of volunteering but I'm afraid I'm not fit enough or agile enough (and my steel toe cap boots have long ago gone to a landfill site). I can't see myself climbing all over a locomotive with my walking stick. A man has got to know his limitations.:(

    But the "whole website bit" should be considered as well, even if it's just the Facebook stream embedded on a web page to save copying the content.

    Just 5 of us onsite today as most of the volunteers were out on the railtour.
    Attention was focused on Tulyar, which now has the lifting jacks in position ready for the bogies being rolled under. It was hoped that this would take place a few days ago, however one of jacks developed a sensor fault which bought the job to a halt. The contractor has a new one on order so we must wait a bit longer.
    The main task on 15 today saw the electricians working to seat the new AVR boxes in the electrical cubicles. Much fettling was required.
    At #1 end the box now sits ok but needs a couple of holes drilling and tapping so it can be fixed securely.A good start was made at the other end of the loco.
    The correct thread screws were located so as to secure the glass covers and frames to finish off the cab lights. After the screws being shortened to suit,all but one of the cab lights are now secure. Both nose end lights require more attention and at least one of them may have to be removed so it can be rebuilt on the bench.
    Finally on the loco, self adhesive rubber has been ordered to fit inside the metal fuse box covers as electrical insulation.
