Take it that it has slipped right down the overhaul queue now?

Would sadly seem it, i was originally pleased to hear the locomotive would be overhauled, boiler was lifted but as can be seen this is now back on the frames. I had read it would be an expensive overhaul.

I do hope she won't be left outside for further deterioration.

Are there any plans to give her a cosmetic restoration, perhaps in time to swap with 7819 'Hinton Manor' when she is due back in 2012 for her overhaul to commence in 2013?

As far as I am aware it hasn't fallen that far down the queue. The boiler work required is heavier than expected and it was decided it would be sensible at this stage to bring forward 1501 which requires far less work and then take on 75069 after that has been returned to traffic. You also have to bear in mind the boiler workshop has just taken on the new build of Dolgoch and perhaps this was a factor as well.

    Cheers
