Work is progressing on the new loco restoration workshop at Aberystwyth.

Locomotive No 8 became the first loco to enter the shed, which has recently been connected to the rest of the railway.

Very impressive. I guess with only 3 locos, good quality maintenance facilities is key to keeping it all going.

Actually only 2 at present and has been for many years - hopefully these impressive facilities will enable a start to be made on No7!

The overhead crane is extremely impressive for a NG facility.

Plus 1 Track Inspection Vehicle, KS 3114 and the rest of the PRNGRT locomotives, I understand.

That's a fantastic new shed. It's great to see the VoR develop.

I think there are lots of interesting plans underway at Aberystwyth and it will be very much a case of "Watch this space"

Thats not quite true! You are correct in that the VoR service is operated by a small team of permanent staff however we do have a number of volunteer helpers working on our station restoration project and their contribution is invaluable.

That's good news and differs from when I asked re any Volunteer work on line.
Sorry about that, I stand corrected on above statement as only part true.
