Velinheli steams back to Launceston

    Quarry Hunslet 'Velinheli' has recently returned to service on the Launceston Steam Railway after a two year absence, and on Monday became the first steam locomotive to visit (the site of) Launceston South station in nearly fifty years.

    ....and on the subject of 'Velinheli', it is her 125th birthday later this year. Her owner, James Evans, thinks this is worth celebrating as she is the oldest Dinorwic Quarry locomotive still in working order - so we may organise something a little special for a 'birthday party'.
