Hello Im after any information and photos of Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0 Vesta, at the Penrhyn Castle Museum. I never knew this loco even existed until the other day. And as it has an uncanny resemblance to the Hudswell Clarke Canal tanks iv now taken a bit of interest in it thanks very much. Matt

Theres a good reason they look similar - they have the same basic cylinder and wheel dimensions.

Hamburg and Gothenburg were part of a class of 8 built for the MSC, whilst Vesta is one of 31 in the Canal / Philadelphia class. I suspect (though am by no means an authority) that the Canal designation means that they are the same as the MSC locos.

Thanks very much for the heads up on P1370 by the way. A number of us travelled long distances specifically for this and the 08, and would have had no knowledge if you hadn't posted. On Friday there was no info on the website and the booking office thought that it would be shunting wagons only.

    Regards
