I am planning to visit with the guys at the Cavan and Leitrim Railway (Dromod, Co. Leitrim) over a long weekend sometime in January (other than the first weekend of January). Any Nat Pres members interested in coming along to see 3 foot narrow gauge? Details of the railway and the Nancy restoration campaign are at https://sites.google.com/site/thecavanandleitrimrailway/
There should be some of the volunteers on site most weekends, and there is an ongoing coach restoration scheme, and their other steam loco Dromad and some I-C locos will also be there.

Dromod is easy to get to from Dublin (a few stops along the Sligo line from Connolly station - check out irishrail.ie) and there is a nice hotel just opposite the mainline station.'The Copper Still' http://thecopperstill.ie/

Flights to Dublin operate from most UK airports, or there's the ferries if you prefer a more leisurely trip. Let me know directly (llabnitram@yahoo.com) if you'd like to join this visit and what dates suit.

This is now happening the weekend of January 18-20th. Let me know asap if you'd like to come along and I can give details of how to get to Dromod (from GB or from Ireland) and where to stay.
