A consortium of FGV, Torrescámara and Vossloh Spain has been shortlisted for a contract to design, build and operate a new tram network in the Columbian capital Bogota.

The project, which is being delivered through public-private partnership, covers the construction of two new lines, connecting Sabana station – Facatativá station and Sabana – Soacha.

Now the bid has been shortlisted, the consortium will conduct further feasability studies ahead of final approval.

FGV would provide consultancy services to the project while Vossloh and Torrescámara would be responsible for installing the infrastructure and building and maintaining the new trams.

The total length of the network will be 43 kilometres and include 17 stops.
