This eagerly awaited trip has now had its (provisional?) schedules published on Realtime Trains:

    Outward journey:
    http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U50597/2013/11/09/advanced

    and the return:
    http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U50598/2013/11/09/advanced

The recent discussion about Galatea's performance (and Leander's) on the CME thread increases the anticipation as to what will be achieved over the fells on this run.

Peter, on a Manchester morning with just a little blue in the sky

Looks like a similar path to the CME for the steam section with the exception of not having to shunt at Appleby because it is a Saturday service. So there will be plenty of opportunity to compare, and possibly contrast performances.

I hope we get a good run up Shap unlike it's recent outing which looked like a struggle, though i suppose that steam leak didn't help.

RTT shows Hellifield at 16.47 so should be OK.

Ralph, we have 3 standard coaches; F, G & H so you will be just behind the buffet on the way back.

At the moment, we are looking at 10 including the support coach....

    See you Saturday!

Will be interesting to compare how she goes with 23/10 that was also loaded to 10. Needs a dry rail.

That's what I thought on the 23rd--about romping, not bacon butties.

Fear not. This time she has the free running VTL train set behind so that's equivalent to an extra 300 DBHP!

It was just to allow a following pendo to pass, from the stand at Tebay we got up to 30 and then the speed gradually dropped to about 19 at the summit, in a hailstorm.......
