Anyone got any news on whether the planned temporary Northallerton West Station on the Wensleydale Railway is likely to be open this year?

I've searched these forums and the web in general and can't seem to find anything more recent than the 'planning permission granted' news items from (I think) April.

I was planning a possible visit in October.

They only got the last of the planning permissions on July 3, so it was decided to make it a winter task for opening next spring.

Thanks for that info, 'bicycle'. I might postpone my visit until then (and maybe send them a donation in the mean time to help with this project).

I don't know how far away you are, but it's well worth a visit even without the bit to Northallerton. A frequent bus service connects, and the present ride to Bedale, Leyburn and Redmire covers real Yorkshire country towns and countryside with Bolton Castle a short walk from Redmire station. Personally, I like the diesel units, especially if you get a front seat - never seen so many rabbits before! I think there is some steam running in summer, though.

I visited for the first time earlier this year. They have a surprisingly long length of Track. Even the stretch towards Northallerton is a decent length. Will certainly go back next year when they open the new temporary station.

I understand that Joem has a broken spring. A friend went up today and no steam service until Tuesday at the earliest. The website doesn't convey this information though.
