Some Interesting Diesel Sundays are planned in Wensleydale for November.

Sunday 7th November 'Sulzer Day'. 47715 is due to do the honours with a nice warm rake of mk2s. Rover ticket £12.50 for 96 miles. Depatures from Leeming Bar at 9.50, 12.02 and 14.42. The ops manager has promised me some cab passes so we'll have a raffle or two for the Diesel Traction Group funds. The bar car will be conveyed.

Sunday 14th Class 20 day with 20166 and 20020 single, double and top'n'tailed. Departures as above. We'll pre-heat the stock but dress up warm!! Hot soup at Leeming! Day Rover £12.50 for 96 miles. Local ales on board. Poppy Fund collection on the day.

Sunday 21st 09.50 with 47715 and a 20 down and 47715 up to heat the coaches. 12.02 with - wait for it - 03144! All the way to Redmire and hopefully back. This train will be limited to 2 coaches so booking might be wise. 14.42 with 47715 down to warm us all up and then top n tailed with a 20 back. Sorry, but there will be a £5 supplement on the 03 trip - I've got to prove this sort of merry jape is worthwhile! The usual £12.50 rover will cover everything else.

Sunday 28th 47715 will be doing the honours again on the main service. There will be at least one trip with 03144 and a 20 along the freight branch to the Swale Viaduct and, if we can fix it, a photo stop and run past at Scruton Station which is being worked on as we speak and will be a first step back towards Northallerton for the WR. £5 supplement on the Swale trip which it might be wise to book as it will be a short rake (if the 2 MK1s we're working on are completed we'll use those), otherwise £12.50 Rover.

There will be good value offer if you book all 4 Sundays - price to follow.

All subject to availability of course - I'll keep the latest posted here, and we'll keep the office staff up to speed so if you ring you should get sensible info.

Your support for this will be much appreciated - if it works we can plan some more fun and games!!

    Hi Folks

The plan is that the DMU will operate the service trains and the loco hauled set will leave Leeming Bar at about 15.30 (so be here early!) and pass the DMU on its last return trip at Constable Burton loop. We're happy to run this as a passenger train as it will be fully crewed and a signaller will be on duty at CB, but there will be a wait at Constable Burton to pass the DMU and a further wait until 17.30 at Redmire. The train will then run to Bedale, stopping at Leyburn to pick up, for passengers going to the fireworks and on to Leeming Bar to run round and return to Bedale. The train departs Bedale after the display which is usually about 20.00 and will be at Redmire around 20.50. It will then run non-stop to Leeming Bar arriving at about 22.00. Passengers can travel on all these trains at £5 per round trip ie £10 for the full diagram,or buy a £12.50 rover and have a few trips on the bog cart - errr I mean DMU.

The bar car will be on the train so we can provide tea and coffee as well as the usual Wensleydale Beers and snacks. 47715 looks favourite as loco as it has ETH and it's also out for three trips the next day, so there's a feast of Sulzer action planned on the WR over the 2 days.

As always your support for these trips is much appreciated and it helps us convince the management that we can make it pay.

Thank you Alan for keeping us up to date with this excellent railway. Have been a couple of times when passing from south to north. Did you get the stock that was stored near the A1 before it was widened?
