    This is the film that resulted in 5C Slieve Callan being saved for preservation. I have had the pleasure of riding that footplate.

    Looks good, and I'd love to visit the West Claire to see it. It's just a shame the West Claire don't update their website occasionally to say when/if the are running- last time it was updated appears to be 2013!

    They run quite regularly as far as I know but may not have 5C running (I gather if you pay for the coal, they will oblige...worth it if there is a group of you) They are very friendly and obliging. Leave it another 12 months and the Tralee and Dingle RPS hopefully will be running* and combining both these lines in a weekend would be quite possible plus the Lartique Monorail at Listowel.

    * not sure how long it will take to overhaul 5T, so may well be diesel hauled at that stage.
