A flyer published this week suggests that the WSR Autumn Steam Gala could feature up to 14 engines, all GWR, including:
King, Castle, Halls (2), Manor, Moguls (large and small), 2884, Large prairie, 56xx, Small prairies(2), Panniers (2 - one early, one late).
Not all locos are yet confirmed. The full loco list will be published in July.

I think a visit may well be required.

Let's hope she makes it. Nothing nicer than a branch line full of appropriate loco's.

Be really nice to see 5542 as well. [-o<

From memory (using David's list above as a pronpt), I think the flyer says the following locos have been invited:

    6024, 5043, 6960, 7903, 7802 or 7812, 5322, 9351, 3850, 4160, 6695, 5542, 5760(!), 9466 + 1 other that I can't remember (a Small Prairie according to David's list)

I'm guessing that "5760" should be 5764 (or 7760 - is that serviceable?)

    5786 perhaps?

I'd read somewhere that they hoped to have 7828 ready, but that's perhaps being a bit optimistic.

Would love to see 7812 on the West Somerset, she really is a stunner. Can't see the SVR letting two locos go at once (manor & 5764) at the moment as they've barely enough to run their own service. However with visting engines arriving for the SVR autumn gala, the diesel gala being held in October and a certain large, green pacific arriving at the end of the month maybe they will have a bit more locomotive capacity to help out the West Somerset. Would love to get over for this one but i'm due to be going to Scotland for a week then. What chance some of the visitors will be working at the mixed traffic event at the end of the month?

The WSR Gala is 1-4 October and the SVR Diesel Gala is 8-10 October.

Looks like a fantastic autumn gala lined up for WSR.If it approaches the GWR themed gala of a few years back then we will all be happy. \:D/
