I prefer "preserved". As somebody once said, "heritage" is something that looks the same as it used to but without the smell of dung.

Someone who spends money on the WSR, and other heritage railways, without which we would not have a hobby.

Is this then a sign that they(Mattel) don't want TTTE on preserved lines? If MD platform is "not big enough" is there any preserved railway with platforms at each end that are bigger - or even just one?
Can someone out there dig out their fact books and tell us if any preserved line has platforms bigger than MD?

Could it be that Mattel have had a "hissy fit" because WSR have not booked TTTE for 2017?
Refusing a licence is one thing, it is up to them, but reasons such as "don't make ENOUGH money" or "platform not big enough..." are just crackers. Just how much do they "invest" in a particular Thomas event?
Platforms 1&2 at MH have as much space as any I have seen, together with the space adjacent to the turntable and cafe. On my local mainline route, I cannot recall any platforms between Liverpool Street and Ipswich which are larger!

From the Ops Notice - I'll just give you the starting times for each loco. As it sticks to the same set of stock all day, it will not be difficult to work out the full diagrams.

Interesting theme for next WSR spring steam gala "SOMERSET STEAM IN SPRINGTIME"

Guessing visiting locos would need to have been allocated in Somerset? But no idea on what would be suitable.
