That's life. If you decorate one room at home it makes the others appear dull. <BJ>

I think EVERYONE who works in a carriage and wagon department would agree that statement is the story of our lives!! :)

The trick surely is to try and shunt the carriages such that the worst is at one end and the best at the other, and have them graduate into each other. :)

Blimey, I know summer (and spring) comes earlier in the south, but Daffodils in flower in the second week of February?

    It's not fair

(but I'm still coming down for the second weekend of the Gala, and I can barely wait).

We have bluebells out here in South Somerset as well. I am not sure if this is a good omen weather wise or not.

I think you are being too pessimistic Robin. The forecast for next week is fine except for Wednesday with Monday and Tuesday being sunny.:Googleit:

Some photos taken on Saturday from the road bridge with the first two looking south.

The next one is looking towards the station.

You will see the old point work has been partly taken out.

And the last one is for Tom showing the new bridge which is the right hand side one. (and any body who is also interested)

Just being curious here but there doesn't seem to be a lot of clearance between the surface of the river and the track bed in that last shot. How high (relative to "normal") is the river in that shot?

I seem to remember seeing a shot of Williton where the whole track bed is under water.

Looks normal to me. You can monitor the height using this site.

    http://www.gaugemap.co.uk/#!Map/Summary/1359/1503

The actual gauge is located a little way upstream from the station. At 0400 this morning it was within normal range and falling slowly.

Excellent views of the site particularly the one of the new track bridge. I am looking forward to seeing it all myself tomorrow en route to Minehead. Thanks to all who have put so much hard work in and have provided pictures as the work progressed.
