    Hi All

I am asking this question since I would like to book the Torbay Express behind The King this summer, but I have read on some news items that she (he?) has a valve problem needing some current repairs. Does anyone know her expected status for this summer's operations?

    Thanks
    Steve

6024 is out of action for a week or two to complete some maintenance work which was deferred until after the WSR Gala. This includes attention to a blowing valve. All is on schedule for its next mainline trip on 1st May.

You don't think 'best loco on the planet' a bit OTT. I could say the same thing about 6695...

You're right. I should have said "my favourite loco".

Though in truth, it's marginal. Every time I see 5043 Earl Of Mount Edgcumbe, I am so impressed by the way Tyseley turn her out that I think she deserves it. And then when I saw/heard 6201 Princess Elizabeth a couple of weeks ago, I was definitely wavering again......:decision: ...... and then 6023 and 1014 have still to arrive!!!! Love is so complicated.....

6024 is back in action on the WSR this week, sounding in good form. The valve problem has been fixed.
