This coming weekend sees a second 'mini gala.' Both DOLL and GERTRUDE will be running our intensive two train service with 1/2 hourly departures from Porthmadog

Added attractions for the FAMILY FUN WEEKEND

A selection of Military Vehicles will be on display with living interpretations to explore

A number of Fire engines will be on site for you to climb in and discover, you might even get to play with the lights and sirens...

Mr Balwns (Balloons) will be on hand on Saturday to make balloon models and entertain while waiting for your train.

Dan the music Man will be running music groups throughout the weekend, come along and sing, clap or just watch.

There will be several working steam engines of all sizes from the hand held through to the 10 tonne locomotives which haul the trains

Complete the treasure hunt for a chance to win a prize.

Saturday evening train services will continue into the evening with trains from 6.30pm - 11.00pm, the sheds will provide, Beer, BBQ and live music, plus the usual exhibits.

Sunday evening, will give visitors a chance to drive a steam engine on the main line by trying their hand on the regulator of a Steam engine at the head of an unfitted freight train. £10 donation is all that is required to sample this experience, which is incredibly reasonable when you consider the cost of most footplate experience courses.

I hope to see you there...

DOLL is due to leave WHHR in the week after the gala (last day of her operating with us will be Monday), so should be back home by the following weekend. Not sure of her exact day of travel.

I don't mind her whistle, but we have to be nice to the neighbours when operating into the evening, so its use is kept to a minimum after 10pm. Looking at our roster, I am on the footplate both evenings.
