Locos in use will be selected from the home-based pool of... 'Braunton', 88, 3850, 5553 and 9351.

I wonder what has happened to 80136, which used to be a sort of semi-permanent loan but went away. 44422 came down for a while as a replacement for the popular Standard tank, but the 0-6-0 has gone away as well.

I'm not moaning as there is a very decent home fleet and quite enough to attract me to the Winter Steam Gala. Meanwhile, looking forward to this weekend.

Worked out the end of its ticket at Llangollen last year after being transported there from the WSR. Assume it's now back at its home base pending a full overhaul...(?)

80136 is at LNWR, Crewe Heritage Centre where it has been dismantled for overhaul.

Fair enough, JBT, I've only seen what's on the WSR's leaflet for the Winter Steam Festival, I'd obviously missed any mention on the WSR website about a guest engine.

    Regards

It's nice to hear that you reaIly enjoyed the last two DVDS, I haven't done one myself of the 2008 ASG, the one that D7076 saw on sale in the shop at Minehead is the one that has been done of the autumn gala by David Oldham, a.k.a. OVP, Oldham Video Productions. David usually manages to get one out pretty quick after the event, so it seems a bit silly for me to try and compete and get something out which would be much along the same lines. I'm a bit snowed under as well at the moment trying to finish off four archive DVDs for Network I'm working on at the moment, so it would have been a bit difficult.

I will be releasing a WSR DVD directly after next spring's steam gala, that'll be similar to this year's 'Through the Seasons' and will consist of this autumn's and next spring's steam galas, plus the recent Somerset in Autumn and the Winter Steam Festival. The shovel-wielding broad gauge bearded star of stage and screen will also make his customary appearance on the footplate... I'll have to start paying him royalties! I usually go up to get a few shots of the Santa trains on the climb up to Crowcombe, so I'll probably stick those in again - the one thing I've never had in any of my WSR DVDs is some shots of steam in the snow... I'm still living in hope!

    Best wishes,
    Regards,
    Andrew

I've only seen it once, at the Winter Steam Festival in 2005. I remember that I was at Blue Anchor and that 6412 on the Auto had just left when the snow started to fall. Looking forward to your next video.

Great to hear that 6024 KE 1 will be taking part in this winter festival.
With Braunton and the rest of the WSR "fleet" should be a great two days.

I am disappointed that they have dropped 5553, after saying she would be in service. Every single other WSR WSF has featured 5542 or 5553 (2003 had both). 5553 is rarely used at galas as it is, and the WSF is usually the only Steam Gala the WSR do where she is in regular use all day. Still 6695 and 6024 sort of make up for it, but I would of like to of seen 5553 run.

Does anyone know if the timetable is being re-done, as I recieved the leaflet just over a month ago now, and still it isn't on the site, and on wsr.org it says that it is Awaited?

I think it's a brilliant line up; a good cure for the post Christmas blues!

It wasn't that long ago that steam railways closed after summer school holidays and reopened at Easter for a few days, then back to sleep till May. Then came Santa specials; now steam in winter without funny faces - let's appreciate this!

Nice line-up! Plenty for GW, SR and S&DJR fans. Will need careful study of the WTT, though, if the turntable is in use!

Anyone know if the WTT will be available by post in advance, and roughly when?
