A NEW non-stop train service from York to London has made its inaugural journey.

As reported in The Press, train company Grand Central was hoping to compete with other services on the East Coast Main Line down to Kings Cross.

That vision has now been realised after the first Grand Central high-speed train reached London Kings Cross yesterday on a test run from Sunderland.
