    I believe so - big task though! Look up the Rogers K class 2-4-2 for an example of other river bank recoveries that are now running in NZ - K88 and K92.

    No plans for restoration I believe, though I can't find where I read that. There's another one stuck in the mud as well that they couldn't retrieve.

    Back in 2009 I photographed these bits from one or more NZR V class 2-6-2, which I believe had been recovered from river banks. It's not completely clear to me whether the parts still exist or have been scrapped - this site suggests parts from four locomotives, but I can't find any reference to any of them on the current Fielding and District Steam Rail Society website.

    It appears these part were scrapped. Much more positive is the second V is now out of the river and back on the rails at Lumsden.
