Saving 3 Cig 1498

We contacted Llangollen, and we know the actual asking price for the loco, they have asked us not to publish it.

Mr Reeder is not part of the 2859 restoration team, we have a large team in excess of 25 people compared to his "society" of one.
He tried to ask us if we would join with him and then share ownership 50/50, we told him to go away.

 

Has he joined up as a normal member instead then?

In all seriousness it sounds like this group has got their act together somewhat and know what they're doing, so I wish them well. 25 People is a good start - I presume at least some of them know what they're doing? I don't mean that unkindly, but someone who knows their way around a 28xx. I'm sure the folk at GWSR will be pleased to offer advice, with the 2807 group and DMLL owning 3850.

So Stuart. Are you personally restoring the 3 CIG or 2859? Have you got the 65k + VAT to spend on 2859? Bit of a diverse collection forming - a 3rd rail EMU and ex-Barry 28xx? Not a great deal of engineering synergy between the two?

How are the new-build schemes moving along?

Yes, a number of new build groups are having to consider, as their first project nears completion, whether they wish to do another one.

Please....just name me one new build that you actually produced a single component for.... Can't do it? Thought not, and that is why no one is joining your 3cig "project" or your 2859 "project" and it's probably why you've been quoted £65k + vat for 2859
