Nothing to do with us, so far it seems he's just one guy, big dreams but not much there.

Stuart Reeder is spewing complete Bullcrap.

We contacted Llangollen, and we know the actual asking price for the loco, they have asked us not to publish it.

Mr Reeder is not part of the 2859 restoration team, we have a large team in excess of 25 people compared to his "society" of one.
He tried to ask us if we would join with him and then share ownership 50/50, we told him to go away.

    :)

    :DHello,
I take that 2859 is not going third rail or having an IC engine installed?
Another trip on the Magic Round-about?

    Niiiiiiickkkkkkkk

Don't forget the asbestos removal with dustpan and brush and re-gauging...

In all seriousness it sounds like this group has got their act together somewhat and know what they're doing, so I wish them well. 25 People is a good start - I presume at least some of them know what they're doing? I don't mean that unkindly, but someone who knows their way around a 28xx. I'm sure the folk at GWSR will be pleased to offer advice, with the 2807 group and DMLL owning 3850.

Yep. That sounds like another loco on its way with a future. A long hard road but worth it in the end. Good luck (well, you make your own, of course) and good wishes.

So Stuart. Are you personally restoring the 3 CIG or 2859? Have you got the 65k + VAT to spend on 2859? Bit of a diverse collection forming - a 3rd rail EMU and ex-Barry 28xx? Not a great deal of engineering synergy between the two?

How are the new-build schemes moving along?

6 of our team are boilersmiths, including 2 who have worked on 3822. We currently have aprox £23,000 raised at the moment.

Yes, a number of new build groups are having to consider, as their first project nears completion, whether they wish to do another one.

Oh, hang on a minute ...

A couple of them are considering what is next on the menu. Unfortunately none of the groups our hero has set-up are in that category...

Please....just name me one new build that you actually produced a single component for.... Can't do it? Thought not, and that is why no one is joining your 3cig "project" or your 2859 "project" and it's probably why you've been quoted £65k + vat for 2859

Please enough Stuart baiting , however tempting it is . @stuartreeder i hope the message is registering that your reputation is such that it is highly unlikely that you will receive support from nat pres for any of your ventures . I also hope you appreciate that you are doing more harm than good

OK - give it a rest.

The forum rules on bullying other members are quite clear and I think a number of people have stepped over that line.
