    I am not sure where 1744 is at the moment...I thought I heard it was at Tysley having some repairs. SR this month reports there is a plan to certify it for ML working specifically for Sheringham to Cromer, but I don't know any more than what I have read. I just know it's not currently at the GC.

    Oh I did see the cover of steam railway magazine saying about the N2 being mainline soon, I was thinking what loco would replace 76084 on the dining trains, but seeing the N2 on the cromer - sheringham would be a lovely sight.

    There's an interesting piece in Steam Railway about Repton being the first Schools to run on the big railway since Cheltenham ran at L & M 150 - but what about all the running to Whitby and Battersby that it did in the course of its last ticket???

    That's a point, maybe its because we class that as being a part of the NYMR, but seeing it on the big railway would be a treat.

    Repton did run on the EVL, not only to Whitby but she did go to Battersby. There are videos on Youtube., this one being my favorite.

    I understand it has returned to Butterley for a bit of Winter fettling, but is then expected to return to Bury in the Spring.

    Was pondering which pre-grouping locos would be operating in pre-grouping liveries in 1917 (for previous discussion see http://www.national-preservation.com/threads/pre-1916-locos-in-steam-in-2016.652267/).
    Here's what I came up with:
    Caley 0-4-4T N° 419 on Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway (hopefully back in 2017)
    Caley 0-6-0 N° 828 at the Strathspey (hopefully back in 2017)
    SECR C Class 0-6-0 N° 592 at the Bluebell (will bow out during 2017)
    SECR O1 Class 0-6-0 N° 65 at the Bluebell (hopefully back during 2017)
    SECR H Class 0-4-4T N° 263 at the Bluebell
    SECR P Class 0-6-0T N° 178 at the Bluebell
    SECR P Class 0-6-0T N° 323 “Bluebell” at the Bluebell (honourable mention: is blue so not SECR livery shade but otherwise SECR livery, see Bluebell Matters thread).
    GER 209 Class 0-4-0ST Coffee N° 229 (returning 2017 at the Flour Mill?)
    GNR N2 Class 0-6-2T N° 1744 at the GCR (on loan to NNR?)
    GER Y14 Class 0-6-0 N° 564 on NNR
    Taff Vale Railway 0-6-2T N° 85 on KWVR

    Any corrections? I've excluded narrow gauge and industrial.
    It is noticeable how few there are, even including probable returns, and how concentrated in a few locations.
    Anyone fancy a repaint of their centenarian into a lovely colourful livery to spice things up? (Of course many of the rest of the pre-grouping locos running in 2017 are probably in LNWR livery...)
