Interesting to watch;
1Z46 bypassed the failure via the Up slow returning to the Dn slow north of Bletchley, then to the Dn main at Hanslope avoiding Northampton.

 

A screen grab purely for the record, taken at Whilton Locks. When was the last time a Royal Scot took the Weedon mainline?

 

Funnily enough my only steam trip (60009) over it was due to failed freight train on the Northampton loop.
I think NR control must have told told us not to hang around.

 

Wet and hazy at Millmeece and somewhat reminiscent of grainy 1960s B&W images, the deficit which was at one time 90 minutes had been halved by this point.
Stopped raining by the time I got home, I hope it did in Chester.

 

Very nice - just one coach spoils it! Works well in monotone.

 

They should ban those electrics from the main line...

 

Bridge strike at Selling, no trains able to run and Britannia held at Faversham. Unsure what the plan will be

 

On the move after 40 mins at Faversham, and just under an hour late into Canterbury East.

Left Canterbury 53 late.

I haven't gone out to photograph it today, would have preferred a forecast that included a biting cold NE wind and snow showers!

My take on the SSE at Little London (Shere).

 

The 'phones were out for the post-sunset SSE passing Little London (Shere). Video frame, also showing the location of the old foot crossing (line across the ballast) which the footbridge replaced. The firebox door is open.

 

Anyone know if the final run is on today please?

Cannot see the path as activated or cancelled on RH or SD

Looks to be running with 70000 and 57311 (I think).

On another note it seems 70000 is also running to Bath via Bicester and Oxford on Thursday in place of 46100
