Thanks Idris, I've no medals but certainly "above and beyond the call of duty".

At that time of morning you don't get the wildlife coming up to you asking " What's coming?"

Sorry to say the obvious but it's good to see Tornado back on the main line again.

The charter market needs a big loco so it's a welcome return.

Lucky it wasn’t the crows complaining about the air cons and the diesel on the back:)

Mentioned by someone on Railcam that it’s down to a hot box problem (no idea if right or not)

    Cheers

Black 5 No. 45212 on its aborted move to Southall, seen coasting round the curves at Heamies Farm near Norton Bridge with adverse signals ahead at Little Bridgeford Junction and then accelerating away from the water stop at Stafford, rounding Queensville curve, heading off down the Trent Valley route to Rugby. RTT says loco runs round at Peterborough, would a diesel be involved?

If it's Britannia and support coach only it would need to run round to access the line to NVR as I doubt it'd be allowed to propel onto the NVR with support coach leading.

Yes as we have been told you can only propel past one signal that is obviously a no go for that distance. Unless the NVR want the loco facing Wansford a diesel would seem superfluous to a move from Southall. I assume the turntable still works on the NVR ( or is a Brit to big?)so even that would make it a non issue.

Apparently 45212 has failed at Rugby with a hot box.
