Anyone know why it is held at Rugby? 40 minutes late and counting

EDIT: Cancelled at Rugby "due to a problem with a steam locomotive (ME)."
Seems like it went into Rugby C.S to stable for now

 

Mentioned by someone on Railcam that it’s down to a hot box problem (no idea if right or not)

Black 5 No. 45212 on its aborted move to Southall, seen coasting round the curves at Heamies Farm near Norton Bridge with adverse signals ahead at Little Bridgeford Junction and then accelerating away from the water stop at Stafford, rounding Queensville curve, heading off down the Trent Valley route to Rugby.

 

45212 at Castleton this lunchtime, off to Southall.

Any help regards whether 70000 will be leading along the ECML would be much appreciated.

 

RTT says loco runs round at Peterborough, would a diesel be involved?

 

If it's Britannia and support coach only it would need to run round to access the line to NVR as I doubt it'd be allowed to propel onto the NVR with support coach leading.

Yes as we have been told you can only propel past one signal that is obviously a no go for that distance. Unless the NVR want the loco facing Wansford a diesel would seem superfluous to a move from Southall. I assume the turntable still works on the NVR ( or is a Brit to big?)so even that would make it a non issue.

 

Apparently 45212 has failed at Rugby with a hot box.
