    Thanks for the explanation. I thought 15/50 stood for 1500cc/50hp.

    So did I, TBQH: they made it awkward with cylinders/power output too - 4/44, 6/99, 6/110.

    Edit: I chose a poor example there! Useful info from Wiki -

    Later, the first number equalled the number of cylinders. After 1956, this number was changed to reflect the engine's displacement for four-cylinder cars.

    IIRC the legendary "Prince Henry" Vauxhall was a 30/98. Wonder if the same was going on there?

    Might get on the bus into town to see it and stand on Spital Bridge just like I did nearly 42 years ago to watch the last Deltic service :(

    And on both engines.................:Happy::Happy:
    But I still don't like the 'Finsbury Park' white cab surrounds.

    That's correct for the green livery though. But like you, I was never fond of the FP white on the blue locomotives, like I never liked the silver roof on the YK locomotives.

    Weren’t silver roofs a Stratford thing? I’ve always associated them with 47s in the 70s…

    They were indeed, along with the "Cockney Sparrer" and, I think, they were the first to use the giant "arrow of indecision". But from memory, York painted the roofs of their "Deltic" allocation silver too along with the fuel tanks.

    Do you mean the end, non-sliding curved part of the window, that’s painted over. I think it’s all metal now, too much effort to get perspex to fit or stay fixed without falling out. Even D9015 has had it done, and that’s been a mammoth job, they could have put it back to ‘as built’, but decided not to. One of the compromises of wanting it ‘main-lining’ I suppose?

    I'm pretty sure @Victor just means the white paint around the windows, not a specific bit of the window.
